Il qui e l’altrove – poetry and reception workshop

The workshop is realized through the collaboration with the association SassiScritti.

Il qui e l’altrove is a theoretical-practical workshop on writing and poetry opportunities as privileged paths to a broadly welcoming.

The workshop is curated by an experienced poetess in guiding writing and potery groups from different contests, including those with people from different cultures, and by an expert italian teacher in reception centres, centers for lifelong learning and multicultural centres.

Creative Writing is used in welcoming contexts and to teach italian L2, and it’s one of the most efficient activities in order not only to get in touch and learn a new language, but it’s also an occasion to gather experiences, to cross different cultures and to build relations. Most of all, potery is probably a privileged language to encourage personal expression, the confrontation and the access to the sensible side that can activate cognitive and social processes.

The workshop is open to operators in the sector, teachers, educators, writing enthusiasts and students. Topics regarding the importance of writing in entering a new life/ cultural dimension will be discussed theoretically while practical examples will be provided on how to develop a a writing project in an educational context. Original texts will be written in order to experience directly a writing journey.

Writing experience is not required.

Alessandro Borri is an italian, history and geography teacher at CPIA Montagna in Castel di Casio (BO). Author of different textbooks, educational games and multimedial tools for learning italian and adults education. He’s a consultant and trainer for both schools and teachers.

Azzurra D’Agostino has published poetry collections and books for children and teenagers ( among the editors DeA Planeta, Giunti, Mondadori…). She is a playwright who has collaborated with Daria Deflorian, Teatro dei Venti, Teatro dell’Argine and has been leading poetry workshops for people of all ages.

The Workshop is conducted through a three-step process:
1. Thursday, May 12. 17.30 – 19.30
2. Friday, May 13. 17.30 – 19.30
3. Saturday, May 14. 12.00 – 13.00 – Public meeting of restitution of the workshop.
The locations will be in the center of Matera and will be announced soon.
